Sound Exchange, Importing London DJs to Milan Marco Scarpelli and Francesco Marelli Milan have started SOUND EXCHANGE, a truly unique organization dedicated to “importing” London DJs and organizing special events. After a “chance” meeting on a BMI flight from London to Milan, Marco Scarpelli and Francesco Marelli discover they have lived parallel lives; both are originally from Milan, both
lived in London nearly 10 years, and they both worked and made a name for themselves
in the British music industry. Today they are back in Milan and have started SOUND EXCHANGE, a truly unique organization dedicated to “importing” London DJs and organizing
special events.Francesco says: “London creates music into which sounds from all over the world converge. Milan is the international and cosmopolitan capital of Italy and needs to capture and promote these sounds with the style that's always been its trademark.” Marco worked in Marketing and PR depts of London’s historic record label Acid Jazz and more recently for the London offices of the Italian label Hit Mania. Marco currently works in Milan for other ultra high quality record labels such as Family Affair and Ishtar. Francesco made his mark as resident DJ at Fishnigths a weekly party that evolved from a birthday party in the historic Bar Atlantis in Baker Street. Rave reviews from music magazines like DJMag and iDJ as well as a excellent review of the mix CD 'Phosporescence', compiled and mixed
with DJ Tony Langford. In 2003 Francesco became DJ of the year for Jesse Rose's
FrontRoom Selections show, he then went on to play for Groovetech Radio in London. Each event is called a “Flight”, already several guest DJs have graced the dance floors of Milan. Francesco Marelli is the Sound Exchange resident DJ. Jim Piercy, one of London’s rising stars featuring an eclectic and unique musical style, Tony Langford , DJ for Fishnights, Big Mouth, Flight and Suicide Sports Club.
