Looking for stylish kitchens and bathroom ideas? Both in and outside Milan, particularly in Brianza, is where all the artisans are at work in their individual “bottega”. However, in the centre of Milan, it is quite easy to visit some of the best showrooms to give you an idea of current trends.

Of course, those of us who are lucky enough to live in Milan, know that both in and outside Milan, particularly in Brianza, is where all the artisans are at work in their individual “bottega”.  However, in the centre of Milan, it is quite easy to visit some of the best showrooms to give you an idea of current trends.

For the most stylish kitchens and bathrooms you could start in Brera with Boffi, Via Solferino n.11, enter the courtyard, and here you will find a large and beautiful display of bathroom suites, showers, and the latest and numerous fixtures and fittings.  The deluxe kitchens, incorporating many of the latest features are also on the ground floor as well as downstairs and upstairs.  What a pleasure to wander around here!

Alternatively, not far away in Via Fratebenefratelli n.9 is SeiMatic for beautifully made kitchens. In Via Durini is Balthup, Italian design with German technology, a perfect partnership.  Nearby, in Via Visconti di Modrone, n.12 is Schiffini, with the splendid clean lines of their designer kitchens.

For flooring and tiles, here are two addresses:  Just off Piazza Scala is Musa, in Via Verdi, with a wide and wonderful selection of tiles and floor coverings.  In Via Rasori n.12 (behind Corso Vercelli) is Sintest with an incredible choice of tiles and marble, as well as parquet and stone for indoor and outdoor flooring.

And, for a quick lunch halfway through your day, just up from Schiffini kitchens in Via Visconti di Modrone / corner Via Cesare Battisti, is a lovely old cafè, a local favourite, called Taveggia.   Another favourite - perhaps whilst visiting Sintest - is Biffi on the corner of Corso Magenta/Piazzale Baracca – wonderful at all hours of the day (breakfast, lunch, aperitivo!).
