Busatti is my very favourite home decor store. They claim “a bit of Tuscany in the heart of Milan”. They are located in Brera which is considered the artsy part of town, Via Statuto 21 to be exact. Everything is plush and suffice, and the ambiental fragrance draws you right into this homey boutique. The first time you enter you want to redecorate your bathroom to look just like the store. It's a family owned business since 1842 which originally made only hand woven fabrics. The Milan store owner, Sabrina Vittore, also has a castle in Sillavengo (Novara) where you can try out sleeping between these crisp but magically soft sheets and drying off with cloud like towels. An incredibly useful little shop, which, strangely enough, is to be found right in the heart of downtown, below the British Consulate, a shop full of useful things you can no longer find, for the garden (all sorts of tools and flower markers, a mat for your knees etc.), the kitchen (glass hangers for the cupboard, silicone gloves, ironing board covers, apple containers for the microwave, glass kettle, laundry bags etc. etc.) the office and home (computer covers, a support for your laptop, and organisers for the cupboard, storage, gadgets). Masses of useful items. Have a look at their excellent website, order on-line. The shop will also give you a brochure for mail orders and you can also have a membership card. Next time you can’t find something, try D-Mail! Contributed by Marion Harber-Radice)
